Terms and Conditions for B&M Contractors
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the B&M Contractors website, https://bandmcontractors.co.uk/, and outline the terms under which we provide our handyman and property maintenance services (referred to as “Services”). By accessing this website or engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Services & Quotes
- Scope of Work: All Services will be performed as mutually agreed upon in writing (via quote or email confirmation). B&M Contractors reserves the right to decline any work deemed unsafe, impractical, or requiring specialised certification beyond our scope (e.g., major gas or electrical work).
- Quotations: All quotations provided are based on the information provided by the client and are valid for 30 days. Quotes cover the agreed labour and materials. Any changes to the scope of work requested by the client after acceptance may result in a revised quotation and price adjustment.
- Minimum Charge: We reserve the right to apply a minimum service charge for all call-outs, regardless of the duration of the work.
3. Payments & Cancellations
- Deposits & Booking: To secure any appointment or commencement of work, a non-refundable deposit is required, structured as follows:
- Labour Costs: A 40% deposit of the estimated labour cost is required upfront.
- Materials Costs: Payment for materials will be discussed and agreed upon separately, based on the specific project requirements and supplier invoices. This may require full payment for materials upfront before they are ordered.
- Confirmation: No appointment will be confirmed until the required deposit has been received by B&M Contractors.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance for all costs (labour and any outstanding materials) is due in full on the day of completion, immediately after the work has been finished and signed off by the client on-site, unless alternative payment arrangements have been formally agreed upon in writing prior to the work commencing.
- Payment Methods: We accept payment via bank transfer and card payment (details provided on the invoice).
- Late Payment: We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in line with UK statutory rates.
- Cancellations: If the client cancels a scheduled job with less than 24 hours’ notice, B&M Contractors reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee equivalent to our minimum service charge to cover costs incurred.
4. Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to:
- Provide safe and clear access to the property and the area where the work is to be performed.
- Provide necessary utilities (water, electricity) for the work.
- Ensure that any required permissions, licenses, or building controls have been obtained prior to the commencement of work.
- Be responsible for the removal of any valuable, fragile, or loose items from the work area.
5. Warranties and Liability
- Workmanship: B&M Contractors warrants that our work will be performed with reasonable skill and care and will be free from defects for a period of [e.g., 3 months] from the date of completion. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from client misuse, normal wear and tear, or external factors (e.g., weather).
- Insurance: B&M Contractors holds appropriate Public Liability Insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of our insurance coverage.
- Limitation of Liability: We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the performance of the Services.
6. Website Usage
- Intellectual Property: All content on this website, including text, logos, and images, is the property of B&M Contractors and is protected by copyright.
- Prohibited Use: You must not use this website in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the website or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the website.
7. Governing Law
